I'm guessing a lot of people are going to give the politically correct answer. Not me. I know that wife gets upset every time I gain weight (which is often), and I feel the same way about her weight situation. Love? What's that?

We have been Married for 18 years and when I look at my wife, she looks the same. She says she has put on 20 pounds since the big day but honestly, I think she looks great!!

Of course you would still love her. You might just not be attracted to her anymore. Bottom line it's not OK for either a man or a woman to let themselves go after they are married. I think part of showing someone you care is taking care of yourself for that person. Some weight gain can't be helped, but too much is just as much of a character flaw as smoking and drinking to excess.

You shouldn't have to ask that question because if the person loves you then gaining weight shouldn't make them not love you. What if you lost an eye or got cancer and had to have parts cut off? Would you worry that they don't love you anymore? If the main reason a man loves a woman is for her body then she isn't of much value to him is she. A man should be attracted to your heart, soul and mind more than to your body.

My brothers wife gained over 50lbs and blames her weight gain on the bad eating habits she picked up from him. My brother doesn't like her weight and wish she would lose, but he being a man very much in love with his wife would never dream of saying anything about her weight. He makes her feel like a Queen.

If a guy could fall out of love over weight gain he was never in love in the first place.

My wife gained a lot more than that and I didn't notice. She carried it well. I was more into the relationship than the looks at the time. She has since lost it all and looks great. Inside beauty is far more important. I'd take chubby and nice over skinny and mean any day.

I'd love her if she gained 200 pounds. I might not think she was as physically attractive, but my love for her would not change.

Yup sure would. My wife was 50 lbs heavier when i met her then she is now. Actually i would be more concerned over her mental/emotional condition. Point being unhappy women often gain weight, happy women usually end up losing it (And i've seen this happen more often then not).
