Why is designer denim so expensive?

What is the difference with designer denim and typical denim jeans?

name brand and i guess since its expensive and a good brand the material is good and it will last longer. it probably wont fade or anything and same for handbags. the material is better

Just the name and also the celebrity "endorsing" the jean brand. I disagree strongly with the above-poster's comment. There is really no difference between a high end expensive brand name and a regular pair of jeans. Buying expensive jeans does not mean quality or longevity.

No difference except a logo! Tell me, when have you ever stopped to look at the tiny little logo on someones jeans just to see if its designer or not!

And why would you buy a expensive thing with their name on it, when you could easily get the same thing for half the price with YOUR name on it!!

I guess because it's the name.
But I love designer jeans like Rock & Republic and True Religion and Gucci. They rule.

apparently designer denim is made from finer materials.
and have the signature wash to them.

regular jeans are made by regular people.
who have no signature for the jeans.

just because it is name brand, plus some have the quality, and others have the cute design, like witht the back pockets, and the 5 washes and the pre ripped parts.
