Today was not a great day. It started off bad and got worse, I had lots of things stressing me out. My daughter never took a nap and screamed almost non stop all day, I had to drive two hours to file a lawsuit, and spent many more hours in the courthouse. Again my daughter fussed non stop. I was on my way home and then remembered that I needed to buy milk, so I grabbed it and went to check out. The checker said sorry I am closed, I think she could see that I was frazled, she then said that she was just joking. I almost said "with the day I've had I wouln't have been surprised." And then I looked up at her and her geniune smile, she was trying to get me to smile, and it worked I felt guilty, I was about to complain about my day, and this lady, who must have cancer (she had no hair and you could tell) was in great spirits! I am sure she has more to complain about then I. I smiled and thanked her, and thought about all the reasons why I am lucky on the way home.

I know what you mean girl! I try to count my blessings daily but it doesn't always work. The other day at work, I was also having a bad day...headache, backache, busy busy day, HOT!, everything was just going wrong. I was having a fit and complaining alot and then my co-worker came to me and said "I have some bad news...Karens daughter passed away". Karen is another co-worker and her daughter was 28 years old, died of cancer. All of MY "problems" seemed to insignificant after that!

Fantastic. Sometimes all it takes is a smile and the world seems full of sunshine again! That's why, when I see someone in a bad mood, I make sure I give them a smile. :)

That was a lovely story! We all tend to forget our blessings until we see someone worse off. Counting our blessings sure helps get us through some tough times too.
