I was fired during my year probationary period with about 2 weeks to go.
I worked in a chicken plant for the USDA. We worked elbow to elbow with the plant employies, both sides of you no more than 12 inches away, with knives.Green card or not convicts welcome (tyson) in deep south. The plant employies don't like the inspectors. kinda like prison guards. The gossip, fights & total crap is sicking after awhile with the same peaple everyday. I am a returned peace corps volunteer and try to be polite to everyone. inspectors can't accoaciate outside the plant w/personal & vice versa. I got on the wrong side of the plant pimp, and I think he got one his bitches to warm up to me. It was refreshing to work with a new person who was nice for a change. Next week I get called to HR for sexual harassment.I used my non-competitive eligblity to get the job.I'm thinking of a 2 tour of PC, getting new noncompetitive status & appling to a differnt agency. Will I be redflagged or on a unhirable list??????

Look at history... one government agency does not act like there are any other agencies. They seem to all function in their own universe. You are probably safe to try again, but learn from past mistakes.

A mere allegation is not enough. Did you say anything that was inappropriate? Two days to go from complaint to firing is extra ordinarily fast especially in the Federal Government. If you were hanging around the employee's workstation when you should have been somewhere else, will you were in the wrong. Why would the boyfriend be out to get you? What is the whole truth? Future government employment will be affected by your probation termination. Apply at an agency like TSA that will take just about anyone. Be up front with them. Then after you have finished your 1 year probation, apply to the agency of your choice.

No. Accusation is not a conviction. By law, your old emloyer is only supposed to provide the dates of your employment and the work duties that you had. Nothing else.

You can always apply and interview. Being accused of sexual harassment is a long way from being accused of a felony; which is the major red flag.
