I'm getting rid of about a million wire hangers. Is there anywhere that recycles them or should I just pitch them?

A million wire hangers? What had been you doing?

Metal scrappers are the best option for recycling.

Go to your local dry cleaners and see if they recycle wire hangers. The ones in my area actually give out cardboard
hanger shaped boxes to customers so that we can return
the hangers for them to re use. Of course, they want
hangers that aren't bent up, they want something they
can send back out to another customer.
So see if the cleaners in your area do this, if they don't,
try to convince them to start a recycling program, its save
the environment, keeps the hangers out of landfill and
can save the cleaners money.
Another suggestion: give them to local thrift stores

Take to goodwill or salvation army. The store I worked at sold them to their customers.
