It just seems when someone just irks me in a certain way, I just don't want to have anything to do with them...so I cut them off, like I've cut off so many people.

Perhaps those people were not worthy of your friendship in the first place. If you feel uncomfortable around certain people who are irksome or negative, there's nothing wrong with cutting them off. It's nothing to worry about. Just keep your eyes and ears open for the right friendships to come your way, but realize that no one is perfect. Even if you meet someone you like, cut them a little slack, rather than cut them off completely. We're all entitled to have a bad day now and then, as I'm certain you do also. Don't expect perfect standards of behavior, because people are just humans, not gods. Once you get over expecting perfection, you'll find a lot of nice folks that are worth knowing despite their faults and shortcomings, real or imagined. How would you feel if everyone judged you by their own set of standards?

bite your tongue and just say no to your impulse. everyone is different and you simply have to realize that not everyone is like you.
try to find the good things in their personality.
i am very sorry for you, but, at least you know this is not a good way to live your life.
my ex wife was like this. it got to the point where i was not allowed to see my family, she cut off her family and i was not allowed to see any of my friends. she would say "so and so is just plain stupid. I just can't stand to hear him talk anymore. i am done with him/her" notice i said "ex wife"?
just mellow out and think to yourself. "will I really care about this issue in one month, one year, five years"?
to be very judgmental and non forgiving is a horrible way to live.
bully for you for recognizing that it can be better.

sounds like you have an anger problem of some sort. everytime someone irks you to that point, stop and think to yourself about it and smile and walk away from it.
