y = 3x + 4 --------> L(x) = same as y
x = 3y + 4 --------> switch x & y
x - 4 = 3y --------> solve for y.
(x - 4)/3 = y

L-1(x) = (x - 4)/3 ----------> "inverse function"

Find the inverse of y = 3x + 4.

To find the inverse switch x and y and solve for y.

x = 3y + 4

3y = x - 4
y = (x - 4)/3

L^(-1) (x) = (x - 4)/3

y=L(x)=3x+4

interchange x & y
x=3y+4

solve for y
3y=x-4
y=(x-4)/3

inverse of L(x) = (x-4)/3
