My god, the answers are amazing. Are there that many insecure women out there? I guess men and women are only supposed to communicate with their spouses once you're married? Put on blinders and never make a new friend. That type of thinking will play real good let's say at work where you might have to communicate with co-workers who are female.
I think besides having to take a d*ck in the butt, I'd rather be gay and married to a guy...at least he would know what I mean when I say things to him because it appears women don't hear what men are saying.
Relax and get over yourself. The more you tell him NO, the more he is going to want to do it behind your back.

To actively go and search out friends of the opposite sex is just plain bizarre and not normal. It's also asking for a whole crap load of trouble.

You're right. I doubt he's looking for "friends" per se. More likely "friends with benefits" or whatever. No, I would NOT be ok with that. My husband has friends of both sexes from his Sunday School class and work, but none that he sees beyond those hours, and we don't see opposite-sex friends without the other one. If he knows what's good for him, anyway, lol.

Nope definately would not be okay with it! I agree completely with your point of view! A spouse seeking out friends of the opposite sex- is dangerous and can lead to trouble!

I agree with your point of view.
I'm not sure what to say about your husband. At least he is communicating his thoughts. Gotta give him credit for that.
This may be a dumb thought but do you think he may be wanting a threesome? I'm not trying to be mean or stupid or anything, it is a legitimate question. I don't know how much freak is ok in your marriage. No disrespect intended.

You're opinion is the correct one. Married men should not be "seeking" new female friends. Period!
Men have a real hard time having a girl friend just as a "friend" unless of course they are gay.

It's possible he just wants contact with other females besides you. Platonic relationships between members of the opposite sex DO exist.
Get over your jealousy; if he feeds it by not being friends with other women, it's only going to breed resentment on his part and further jealousy on yours.

It is wrong for him to go looking for female companionship while he is married. You already know this. If he wants to add some spice to his life he better make sure it's worth losing you as a "friend". Tell him so.

He is up to something! Friendship is not gender related.
Considering he is looking specifically for "female" friends, I would be cautious of what he does in his alone activies with these new female "friends"
