My Maman died in 1975
My Daddy died in 1976.
I was 20/21 at the time. Yes, I miss them. Daddy died right before Christmas...I left his present in the coffin with him: he loved harmonicas, and the year before we'd given him a huge one, 4 feet long, that would play if you could blow hard enough, lol; that year we had found a tiny one, only an inch long...that was going to be his present.

I lost my dad, who would have turned 80 a week ago, in 1988. He was killed when his big truck ran into a wild horse in Nevada. And I lost my mom in 1990 to congenital heart failure. I also lost my oldest brother to cancer 3 years ago.
They were all very hard to take and were hard to get over enough to begin only remembering the good times with the bad times slowly fading away.
I miss them especially around the big parent-offspring holidays like Mother and Fathers day, every ones in the families birthday and their anniversary, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas. One of the biggest things I miss is being able to ask them questions, like how it was when they grew up and things like that.
It is so very true that you can't imagine what it's like to miss someone until they're gone.

well i almost lost my dad 2 times
1 time he's almost got shot and his chief took a bullet in the head and the another one is he got in a accident.
my dad was a cop for 15 years

I lost my Mom twice- she abandoned the family when I was 2 weeks (yes, weeks) old and then died when I was 13 years old; she was 42. I never got a chance to know her. I still hate it everyday.

I lost both of my parents. I was 19 when I lost my dad, and 35 when I lost my mom.

I'm 38 and still have both of mine and am very grateful. I dread losing them some day....
