i love cats an dogs, an their both affectionate!! i had a cat named panther, he wus so fat an scardee!! lol he wud jump on aeyone an purr an purr, an rub his head on them, an bring them dead things X//D

We don't really know. It's doubtful a cat feels grief the way we do, if for no other reason than animals don't have the luxury of emotion. If you every waking moment is conditioned for your own survival, well, you know. I've heard of males killing offspring so the mother will mate with him (and the females often do). I had a female cat that could sense one of her kittens was ill at birth and she refused to care for it. The kitten died and she took it out of the nest into the woods somewhere.

any one who thinks cats are not affectionate hasn't spent much time in their company. i've had cats all my life, & if you show them affection they will return it 10 times over.

yes. turtles are much more non-affectionate than cats, and people never complain about them ... i dont get it either

i like both, but prefer dogs, they are way more likely to protect you, and cats just kind of come and go as they please. dogs are more loyal and work for there pay.
