Well all cleats will wear out after a while. If you play a lot you'll probably want to buy a new pair every year or so. And for a certain brand, The Adidas I have always worn have been very comfortable and I normally go with a Mid. But Nike's have always seem to give me a better feel. It all depends on whats comfortable to you. I'm not sure if there are any shoes w/ a stronger toe area, but i know you can buy like a gel or something that you can put on the toe area to make it more durable, I think its called Tuff Toe Pro, it says its for baseball and pitchers but I'm assuming you can use it on any cleat for any sport or position. And don't walk on cement or hard surfaces with your cleats.

if you want to go to a store, then you can check out what Ladies footlocker has. If there is an adidas or nike store near you, they may have softball cleats there as well. Champs may have something for women.Finish line and Footaction may also have softball cleats. If your looking online, ladies footlocker has but otherwise I don't know anytrustworthy place to shop online.

That means you are pitching legally! dragging the pivot foot.
There are toe plates you can buy that attacth to the cleats that protect the toe area. You can't use the metal ones, only the plastic ones.
If you are playing High School ball, you may want to wait a bit. NFHS has announced that metal spikes will be allowed in the 2008 season. I believe that still has to be ratified, and your state association may choose to not adopt that. But bottom line is, you may be allowed the metal cleats next year, and if so, the metal toe plate may also be allowed.

I don't know if there's a specific brand but just go to a local sporting goods store and look around for cleats. There's almost always someone there to help.
When I used to play softball, I usually played left field or second base and the high top cleats worked for me since it helped me from spraining my ankle.
Those cleats are still in good condition in my closet.

You have not been specific enough in the location of the hole. If it is on top, there are toeguards (by whatever name) that offer additional resistance to wear and tear. As to brands, well, I don't need the product, so I cannot help you there. I reassure you, though, that such an improvisational equipment adjunct exists.
Hell, I now see my stuff was covered thoroughly, and Mizuno on top of it. GL finding your stuff!

You could try something that the pitchers in hardball have used for years. It's called a pitcthing toe, it is a place of leather thast is worn on the front of your cieat, when you pitch your foot drags around when you follow thu. The pitching toe is placed on your follow thu foot and it protects it from dragging on the ground.
