I found a baby toad a mile away from a river in west virginia. It was very small (2cm, under a few grams), after a big rain. Its brown and has a few spots. I was wondering:
1. What to feed it?
2. Can i kept it in a plastic container with soil, water, and plants.
3. Other ways to care for a toad.

You shouldn't keep it you should return it to the wild in a marshy area and if you do put it in a aquarium with a lamp if its a toad with brown leaves twigs dirt water and flies.

Probably an American Toad, maybe Fowler's. It will eat small insects just fine. They don't need moist areas, although a small, very shallow water dish buried to the lip in the dirt would be a good idea Make sure there's some gravel under the dirt for drainage. You might want to ask your local pet store guy or call up someone in the Bio department over at WVU for more tips.
