James Blake has battled some nagging injuries all year. I expect him to play well at the US Open though, he always puts his best Grand Slam tournament together at Flushing Meadows. Maybe he can reach a semifinal or even a final this year now that he's a little under the radar with his subpar year.

i wouldnt say he had a bad year...but it has been less successful thus far than last year...of course only blake knows the real reason for how his year is going. I think his concentration on his book mightve taken some of time from actual tennis...and Blake usually does excellent on the summer hard courts so definitely look out for him in the coming weeks and months leading into the US Open

James Blake is an egg head. He thinks his power game will subdue his opponent. The only shot he got is a fast flat shot which easy to return. For him, everything is hard and harder. His mental game is weak. He seems to have nervous breakdown just about every match. Can't get over bad hit, bad call, ect....By the way, he looks cocky during gametime, doesnt want to do the dirty work. He needs to get his head together and work on his finese game

This is a common phenomenon for every player. They go through what is termed "bad period" when they lose matches to ordinary souls.The mormal tendency is these players will pick up their winning streak sooner than later. Let's hope Blake does similarly.

Injured the second half of the year....but he was playing OK...
In San Jose, I watched him play and loose in 2nd round.
