I do not know how to activate an iphone. does it cost money when you activate it??

Well you purchase your iphone you have two options. If you purchase your phone at a apple retailer store then you have to activate the phone online at www.apple.com

However if you purchase the iphone at Cingular (A T&T) store then they actually activate it for you. The lowest individual plan for the iphone is 59.99 a month for 450 minutes, unlimited email and internet usage and 5,000 nighs and weekend minutes and unlimited mobile to mobile. On your first bill, if you are a new customer then there will be a $35 activation fee as well as your monthly rate prorated meaning your first bill will be higher including a a extra month in advance plus any taxes.
