If you're question is 'why doesn't the car start with the key' then I recommend you look at the key. On older Hondas, keys simply wear out. If you look at the key and see brass where silver metal used to be, chances are the key has been worn down through the thousands of cycles and it is no longer making contact. Honda dealers charge about $8.00 to make a new key for you. Try that first before getting involved in speculation on other causes if the problem is that the key doesn't work all the time. If you're trying to fix a different problem, please give us some more info on what the problem is.
