Yes. The rougher the surface you run on, the more impact there is on your joints. Furthermore, running on such an uneven surface makes it likely that you will fall and twist an ankle or break a bone. This is not to mention the possibility that you will be run over by a train, which would really do damage to your legs and feet.

ALL stable solutions above !! i admire the "verify with the acquaintances" answer because of the fact that's the finest... i'd additionally verify with the realtor. yet another purely attempt is to in straightforward terms pass out at the back of the domicile and look on the tracks: Are the rails rusty ?? Then it is not in universal use !! additionally, if weeds are growing to be up 'tween the rails and alongside the suited of way it is not seeing time-honored use. GOOGLE EARTH would assist you to be certain if it somewhat is a mainline or in straightforward terms a spur to an old industry. stable success.

There should never be rocks on the tracks - it can derail a train. Power to you if you can run on tracks - with them being so narrow and slippery, I'd be more worried about falling and banging my head then anything else.

I suppose you could have meant between the tracks -----

..I wish I had rail road tracks to run on, it would make things alot more interesting. All I have is the vast and expansive lands of...suburbia.

But anyway, if an unconditioned runner were to start off on harsh terrain like this then it is possible that they could injure themselves, however if taken carefully then it could actually probably strengthen you further and make you less likely to be injured by strengthening your tendons, ligaments, and bones(that takes time of course).
