And gets everyone in an uproar....
Ok i myself am currently not breastfeeding. BUt I remember a while back there was a huge hub bub about a popular babymagazine with the profile of a womans boob with a baby latched on the nipple. One objector even said she was afraid her husband or 13 yr old son would see it(give me a break lady i'm sure BOTH of them have magazines with worse) since then i have seen soo many magazines with sexy women wearing basicly nothing...yet no commotion like the breastfeeding.I've seen tatoos and tail gates with naked women why is breast feeding sooo wrong? Why is it only ok for women to display their breast for entertainment but if she is feeding a baby its WRONG??

i'm not implying that they should be solely for one or the other.. i'm just saying that its a little ridiculous that breastfeeding gets such a negative reaction while exibitionist get cheers(mardi gras fo example)

At my age 30 they are more for fun. But for a 2 month old they are for food. Then when he is my age they are fun again.

I'd say it's for both, but then again, I'm a guy, I have no say really. ^_^ I know. Sorry.

A couple of observations I'd like to make though if I may:

--If breasts were just for feeding infants, why would they be so high up on the woman's body? Yes, there is that "holding" thing going on, but if you look at other mammal species, even your pet dogs and cats have more breasts, *lower down* on their bodies. It can't all be the upright posture....some of this has to be about visibility, about letting others know "which ones are which" from some distance. And yeah, these aren't the caveman days when this stuff evolved, I know....sorry.

Point is. Breasts are also high up on the woman's torso *in part* to be seen, and why not admit this? It's the same reason why men get beards and muscle too....

--And....I think this is a local thing you are describing. As in, local to the United States. In most of the rest of the world, people really have more important things to worry about than *another woman's breasts*. Only in America are we *so damn* miserable and uptight that we *refuse* to welcome Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at the Super Bowl a while back, and instead have folks get *sued over it* and such a fuss made that the *next Super Bowl* ends up being the Mostly Gay Englishman Edition.

The other point is: why hate the breast? Honestly, nobody else in the world does this quite like the way Americans do....well, unless you count Saudi Arabs of course, who don't want more than *one eye* of a woman to show any where, any how. -_-

But yeah. If guys can stare and gawk at the plain, unadorned breast, then breast-feeding an infant should be a *total non issue* here. Really. I hear you and get it.

Thanks for your time....know that we aren't *all* a bunch of prudes and psychos here. ^_^

I think they are good for both, the only problem with breastfeeding in public is dealing with perverts, they take something perfectly natural, beautiful, healthy, and innocent and turn it into something that is dirty

cuz the world has no morals left and they are all obessed with looks... and your right, the entire male population oogles over them... kids are conceived while they are being oogled...yet the simpliest thing, nurishing a child and allowing it to live isnt socially acceptable...

See a woman's bosom is more acceptable than seeing her vagina.
