I said this as an answer somewhere else, but I thought it would make a good question to get reactions to.

I love intelligent discussion, so keeping that in mind, what do you think?

Oh Map and ndmagicman... we make fun of his weight like you make fun of Bush's public speaking issues. We could go on and on with factual data on how wrong he is, and we have. We say "Here's all the facts he lied about/stretched the truth on/misquoted and all we here from y'all is "Oh...well...YOU'RE wrong!"

And I'm not jumping any bandwagon, I've said he was a disgrace to the word "documentary" since the travesty that was Bowling for Columbine.

Okay well anyone who wants "specific criticisms" (okay, Map?) about what a liar Michael Moore is, read this:

http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm

These are not personal attacks, but well thought out details of the truth about the lies Moore has presented (for you, ndmagicman, Chevy P).

And remember: we can't criticize Michael Moore until we've seen his movies, (right Map?). So you can't criticize us until you've read those documents.

Remember the arguments you made to support Michael Moore, and hold onto that when you're attacking the people who say he's a liar.

It depends on what kind of "making fun of" you are referring to.

People use humor to make points quite often. That kind of "Making fun of" isn't that immature.

But those who just make fun of his wieght are losers. We saw that a lot with Rosie. Of all the ammunition she gave us to use against her, and many felt it important to focus on her wieght & the fact she's day.

Belieiving what is in his "documentaries" is naive & I guess you could call that "childish."

Michael Moron, has distorted all of the facts in his movie
Fahrenheit 911, I even visited his web site and gave verifiable evidence against everything he stated as facts, I assembled this into an email and that fat pompous *** did not even have the decency to reply and tell me to f-off or anything.

It is absolutely more childish to believe a single thing this man says, even if he said he weighed 350 lbs, I would not believe him and he is a disgrace to those that call themselves liberals. Personally, I call him the White Al Sharpton!!

I don't believe it's childish to make fun of Michael Moore if it is done with valid and verifiable facts which point out the deception and inaccuracies in his so called "documentaries."
Michael Moore is very good at what he does - but making documentaries is not what he does. He has even admitted himself that his movies are op-eds and not true journalism - and still his legion of followers think he is preaching the Gospel. Now that's pretty childish in my opinion.

Both ways are childish. What intelligent people do is look at the argument he presents and ask themselves if he has a point or not. These people do their own thinking and come up with their own conclusions.

People who make fun of him generally have absolutely nothing to offer to show that his point of view is wrong.

People who blindly believe everything they are told by the TV are really in the same category. Too lazy to do their own thinking.

You can check the facts that Michael Moore presents in his films and try to refute them if you can. Checking his facts and therefore believing them is hardly childish.

It’s a lot easier, sillier and of course more childish to make fun of Michael Moore personally. That is what people resort to when then can’t refute the facts he presents.

Maybe Moore is secretly making donations to Romney.

man was Michael Moore wrong on Fahrenheit 9/11 or what?

everything he said about the U.S. going into war on faulty intelligence was wwwrrroo...... ooohhh forget it.

does Moore have agenda? of course!!! who the hell doesn't. what's important is to take what he says and take what the other side says...... let it swim around in your brain a little..... and come up with your own views!!!!!!!

The question in no way suggest that you're looking for intelligent discussion. Have you even seen any of his movies? If so, do you have specific criticisms or are you just jumping on the bash Moore bandwagon?

Believing what he says is childish. "It was in a movie, so it MUST be true"

He says the government can do a better job of healthcare than a private industry.

However, the public school system apparently doing as well as the private schools - which is ironicly, where Michael Moore sends his two daughters for an education.

So which is it? Government is better? Or private industry is better?

Believing him would actually involve putting thought into an opinion that he has. Making fun of him tells us you have no thought and would rather mock or poke fun of him, as would a child.
