nothing, just hope that someone outbids you. You are committed to purchase the item, unless someone outbids you. Your user score is an important gauge of your ebay morale, professional manner, and if u have negative marks for failing to pay for an item u had the highest bid on, it could affect your ability to buy, and MORE SO sell anything on Ebay in the future.

Users have the option of cancelling ur bid on their item, if u negative rating info, and buyers can likewise sometimes cancel their bid, due to ur rating info also, even after you/they have placed a bid.

If you win the bid, you pay for the item. eBay is not responsible for your bidding practices, nor is it responsible if you overpay for something.

Next time you might shop the stores BEFORE you shop and bid on eBay.
