This coming season the highest paid players will be Scott Gomez and Daniel Briere. Between their yearly salary and signing bonus they will make $10M this coming season. The highest salary in NHL history was listed above, Jagr with $11M/year.

After this coming season with Gomez and Briere, Sidney Crosby will be the highest paid player with his $8.7M/year with no signing bonuses. This is all conditional because some of the players becoming free agents after this coming season might set a new high.

He's not the highest paid player, but geez, Rick DiPietro signed a deal a year or two ago covering the next 15 years. Ridiculous, he's not even a superstar........yet.
