I don't see anything wrong with it. I was 22 years old when I got my license, even though I've been knowing how to drive since I was 15. There was no need for it before then because my job/home were within walking/bus distance, and when I was in school, I had friends with whom I would ride back and forth. Driving is a major expense and headache, and why do it when it's not necessary? The only reason I drive now is because I usually work late and the buses stop running after a certain time. My car payment is $300/month, insurance is $50, gas is about $30-40/week, and lets not even talk about maintenance. Why spend all that money when you don't have to?

I'll tell you what, let's get everyone 30 and over without a driver license together at my place, say, this Friday night about 7, and have a meet and greet. (It's called a driver license in California, not a driver's license.) That way, we can get to know them all, and pass judgment on them at that time, rather than try to do it blind. You know, up until about maybe the last hundred years, there was no such thing as a driver license, and people got along just fine. In fact, many of the most brilliant people that ever lived were alive before cars were invented. Without meeting any of these people you speak of, I would say that they're probably very nice people, quite intelligent, and certainly able to think outside the box when it comes to moving themselves around on the planet. Or, they are lazy-azz cretins who don't have a license because they are simply not motivated enough to get off the couch. I guess we'll find out Friday. See you there.

When I worked in a motor vehicle division office in Arizona, I issued a driver's license to a thirty three year old man for the first time ever. I asked him, out of curiosity, why he'd never had one before. He had lived in rural areas all his life working in ranches. He drove since his early teens but from ranch to ranch never crossing a marked/public road. So, even though he drove with out a license, it was not illegal since he never touched the road.

There was a lady in her late thirties who got her license for the first time. She had always had someone to drive her where she needed and she didn't ever feel like learning. When her husband past away, she realized she needed to depend a little more on her self.

There are many circumstances for which a person of any age would not have a license. When I know of one, I don't think anything of them. I simply ask if curiosity arises.

there's nothing wrong with that ,some people have no need to drive,i know a lot of people who don't like to drive, and don't want the expense of a car to keep up all the time,i don't think there's nothing wrong with it though,it just makes it hard for them to get around sometimes,i know a man from new york that didn't get his license until he moved to Tennessee, and that was about 8 years ago,and he,s well over 60 now,he said he never needed them before he moved here, you either need them or you don't,good luck hope this helps.

Nothing wrong with that. I major cities you don't even need a drivers license. Whoever does not have the license probably just chose not to for a good reason.

I think he lives in an urban area and doesn't need a car. On the rare occasions that he may need to be somewhere, he can take a cab. With the price of parking in Manhattan, I can see why he wouldn't have a car.

There can be other reasons why he doesn't drive, but that is his call. and his business too.

Where I live, if you don't have a driver's license it's because of multiple DWI's or your a jobless bum.

Both of my grandmothers never ever had a driver's license but they were born around 1915 and grew up with horse drawn wagons.

First thing I think is they grew up in a city setting where public transportation is easier.

I grew up in the suburbs, all kids were chomping at the bit by 16 to test.
