There are mixed answers for "who will die?" in the 7th Book. Some people say it will be Harry, Hagrid, Ron Snape, the list is endless. But one thing is for certain. Harry Potter does not die.
Author JK Rowling stated in a media conference, that "in the last part of book 7, harry gets a family".
This quote may make you ask two questions: "who is this family?" & "does this mean there is another blood related person to harry out there?".
But This answers the question you are asking, If Harry Potter gains a family in the last part of book 7, it means, nope, hes not going to die!
And any person he has to die for no books to be written by non-authors. Yes, JK Rowling may have said she will kill someone off because she didnt want any non-author writen sequals, but there are other ways of doing this, rather then killing off harry. What about Killing Voldemort, isnt he the one "ALL" the books are based on. If he dies, that means no more books really. Its just common sense.

No way Harry dies, and tho it's out, I haven't read either the book nor any spoilers. Truth. Rowling would be crazy to kill off Harry. Tho no more books supposedly, but there's merchandising, movies, foreign rights, and sequels. If Harry dies in book seven, what happens to movies that haven't been produced yet. NOTHING. That's why Harry won't die.
Rowling gives the impression of a lucky duck who just became very wealthy through happenstance. But in reality she is an excellent marketer. Even wealthy people need and/or want more, because that sort of lifestyle EATS money. So she'll not kill off her meal ticket.

I do not think Harry will die. JKR would get way too much hate mail/death threats if that were to happen. Besides, I think she appreciates her fans too much to stab them in the heart like that. Voldemort is most definitely going to die, it's just too predictable. He's the main bad guy, and the bad guy always dies in books. As for two main characters, one of those could be Voldemort, and possibly another villianish character. Or it could be a good character and a bad one. Or two good ones. Who knows? I don't agree with the people who think that Harry is going to die just because JKR doesn't want someone running off with her storyline. Anyone who makes a spinoff of the Harry Potter books will most likely have limited to no success, since no one knows the characters as well as JKR. Also, no one could write the books as well as she has.

If I were the writer I wouldn't kill poor Harry Potter off just yet. Let him hang around in the back ground just in case as an older man I might need him.

Now when she said she will kill off two MAIN characters, was she just talking about the good guys? Because it's pretty obvious that Voldmort is gonna die no matter what. Personally, I think if she kills two of the Good guys, one will be Hagrid. Hagrid dying just seems to make perfect sense to me. Also, if another good guy dies, I think it will be Ron. It makes sense to me that Ron will die, because Ron and Hermonie are just starting to fall in love, even though they can't see it. I can see Ron trying to save Hermonie and being killed. A lot of times when someone has a love interest in a movie, one of the individuals who are in love with each other will be killed.

If I were making a best guess, I'd pick Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. You have to look at who Rowling has killed off in the past. She's killed off everyone close to Harry so that he faces Voldemort alone.
She's killed off his mother and father, Dumbledore, and Sirius Black (although room has been left to bring him back). However, it could be someone like Neville that gets killed. She was wanting to integrate him more into the story line.
And of course Voldemort has to get killed in the end. However Snape puzzles me the most. A book writer could leave him alive and make him the evil character in the next series of books, basically having him take over for Voldemort.
Or to kind of twist the plot as a surprise he could turn out to actually be a good guy.
Then again if she wants to get everybody off her back so she doesn't have to worry about writing another book she could kill Harry off like the author of Sherlock Holmes did.

exactly what kind of message would JK Rowling be giving children if she killed off Harry Potter? Remember, the Harry Potter series are children's novels.
and there are more than two... two main characters have been confirmed by JKR, but there are more deaths than that.

harry might die, because J.K. Rowling doesn't want ppl writing books off her character (harry potter). Harry or Voldermort has to die, if one dies the other one lives i guess.

Personally I think that Harry and Volemort will die....I think that it is the only proper way to end it...If not them...Ron or Hermonie or both...but whoever dies it has to tie in with the theme of all the books..Friendship.
