I think being prejudice is wrong, but you have to also be presentable when you go looking for a job. Whether your goth or emo or whatever else is out there.
If I went looking for a job with underwear on my head and no one hired me, is it right for me to complain. No. I have to look presentable for whatever job I'm applying for.

Yeah man that sucks but it is a truth. People judge you for what you look like and not what is really on the inside. It's the same way in high school. I was always considered a big dumb jock, well actually I am, lol. That sucks dude better luck to ya next time, to bad people have to be so shallow.

Hey you should check out this song, it's called signs. kinda fits what your saying.

Well, if you don't look goth, then how can it be prejudice?
They wouldn't know otherwise, unless you spoke about it.
Join the human race. If you want a job, look and act the part.

Yes it is a form of discrimination. They go by the old rules of shirt and tie. They need to reform that, to todays standards. Where I live, if you work with the public and your face is pierced you have to wear a band aid on it. One place actually gave the guy a bright orange band aid. It looked worse then the piercing. We all have a right to express ourselves, however way we chose to without harming ourselves or anyone else. Keep up process of reform and good luck.

i feel the same way-I'm a manager of a store and i hire people based on their skills and ethic. i would never judge people by the way they look-maybe that's why i have been there for 6 years

Well, unless you start your own business I doubt you'll find many places that would except you, maybe a place that sells rock music, or a place that sells Halloween costumes. Possibly Spencer's or places that cater to your style of clothing etc.

yes I think it is wrong to not hire someone because of their beliefs.

But if you look really antisocial, they might not want to hire you because you look intimidating to customers.

it's not fair..just because they think you're different shouldn't mean they shouldn't hire you.
