"Although Ronald (Ronnie) was Eminem's uncle, he was only two months older than Em. They grew up like brothers and you can say without overstatement that he was the only relative Em really loved. Ronnie committed suicide in the year 1991 at the age of 19 by shooting himself in the head. The reason is apparently because of a girlfriend at the time. It took a long time for Eminem to cope with the death of Ronnie. The dog tag Eminem wears used to be Ronnie's, his grandmother gave him the tag after he died."

That was Eminem's uncle who was around the same age as he was, I've heard. His mother's younger brother, I believe. I also believe he was shot and killed by gang violence.
