it's sad that these things are happening and that these people resort to such measures. atleast domestic helpers actually work in order to help, but Filipinas for sale as wives? I dont know who is more pathetic, the Filipina being sold, the foreigner who bought her or the people in charge of the business.

Whether this is true or not, I find it curious that no one is very shocked about this. It's as if these things are not so far from reality... It says a lot about the kind of world we live in nowadays...

however, if some people resort to prostitution in our own country, the it's not surprising that this could happen. I dont agree with it, but I understand that for some, it's an easy way out. I just hope they dont regret their decisions any time in the future.

It's really sad, and yes, it does reflect on us Filipinos even if it's just a miniscule number of people who resort to such measures...

Oh I've seen that in the news. It's the Filipina Wife Store. I pity the Filipinas who dared joined the site but that doesn't mean that Filipinos are 'that' degraded. Those who made the site are more degrading. Such imbecile fools.

That news is true, and presently Filipinos and International authorities are already after those sites and operators.

Actually its not only young Filipinas and Filipinos are being exploited but also those from other countries like Vietnam, Thailand and India.

As magwawali said: The site is not real, but other than that it is true that you can BUY EVERYTHING in the Philippines, may it be love, may it be a wife, may it be pleasure.... EVERYTHING and almost everyone (sad to say) can be bought here.
But the REAL sad thing is that the Filipinos let themselves be bought. As soon as the white guy waves his greens around, most of the Filipinos act like slaves. Most call whities "Joe" and have you ever heard:"Spokening Dollar!"?....
So sad... but so true

Of course it is unethical for people to sell Filipinas off to other countries, but then Filipinos themselves degrade each other.

When given a chance, the average Filipina would chose a Mestizo or a Caucasian partner to marry than someone who is Filipino, most prolly not because of the prospective hubby's cash, but because they want their children to be fair-skinned and blue or hazel-eyed. THis is Colonial Mentality. That's why 3/4 of the people we see in TV are all Caucasian half-castes.

Now, you still call the selling of Filipinos on the internet as degrading?

The mere elevation of Caucasian halfies in the entertainment industry is degrading enough for all Filipinos, especially the indigenous-looking ones, who are striving to build a strong self-esteem under heavy influence from Western stereotypes of physical appearance.

Nevertheless, if we get back to the topic, it is still wrong to sell Filipinas online, but we should get rid first of the degradation of ourselves - of Filipinos - and that is, Colonial Mentality. With Colonial Mentality, you degrade Filipinos to the core.

When we get rid of Colonial Mentality, I figure out, the Filipina-wanted ads would disappear. Westerners all know that Filipinas are fond of Caucasians.

the poor do what they do out of desperation

however, even those who are well off often take it upon themselves to do corrupt and deplorable things

if only it was as simple as saying its only the poor that are dragging the philippines reputation through the mud, but its also the mayors, governors, senators, congressmen, and even the president who are responsible and are partly to blame

everything is being sold here in the philippines?
wives? kidneys? tooth? part of your body?
so what is new?
for uneducated person who is starving,
he/she has no option but to do it,
"kapit sa patalim" as what they say,
you don't know the feelings of it until you
had experienced it, don't judge them for what
they are doing but help them to get them out
of that situation, i had heard one story of it
she has 5 children, and her husband left her, she
has no job, so what she can do? she is now
accepting "limos" from foreigners who get her
address through "wife online store", what we
can do? ask the government for help?
if the government is serious about this,
then it should be eliminated years ago, coz
i heard that story on the year 2002, until now
it is an issue, what ordinary people can do?
i don't have much resources but i had once
dedicated myself teaching children in payatas
when i was in my college years, i want to
help them but how?
if selling of thy self is the only way to self
my 5 children, why not? if it is for my father
who is in the hospital, why not? if it
will help me to put my brothers and sister
to college for them not to experience what
had i, why not? sacrifice and love of my family,
do you think it is reasonable?
i speak for those who can't.
judge them, and i ask you, who you are to do that?
^_^
blame those who has power to eliviate their
lives, not them who has no choice,

addition:
want to know the truth?
yes it really happens, how?
