Is Oregon a nice place to live ?

I always wanted to go there and wondered what anyone's thoughts are ?

Never been there but several friends that always talk positively about the state.

It is the most beautiful state I have been to (along with Washington), and I've been to most of them. Plus, there is no sales tax. I would definitely live there, however I am currently stuck in dismal New York.
