Man, cool gift - that's probably my favorite thing to get is iTunes cards (seriously)! I'm not that up on musicals or plays, but I like most of the bands you do, so here are some singles I've downloaded lately:

Anything from Rattle & Hum by U2, the soundtracks to Evita & Phantom of the Opera are cool, plus Mamma Mia is a real guilty pleasure
All-Star by Smash Mouth is my favorite of theirs,
I'm not a big follower of Green Day, though.

Then download those bands. Personally, I love bands like The Beatles, The Who, Duran Duran, Yes, Genesis, Rush, U2, and Journey.

No one can tell you what really good songs are. That's very subjective. It depends on what YOU like. Get your favorites, and oh, by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

If you don't have it yet you should download Green Day's "International Superhits" It has all their hits prior to the American Idiot CD.
