I sold my car and Dad arranged a weekend pass(sort of a rental) with a Z car(Nissan) which had a manual transmission.
I had never driven a stick before, but that car was so damn fun there was no way I was going to miss the opportunity. I took off from the house, picked up a friend who drove a stick and we did not come home for hours. By the time I got back home that evening,I was shifting gears like a pro.
Long story short, with the right car, you WANT to drive a stick.

At first it's a little tricky to learn. The key is being really precice and gentle with the clutch I guess. Anyways once you've mastered starting from a stop (especially on a backwards slope) it's a cake walk pretty much forever. And also, it's really rewarding, so LEARN! My first car was stick and now I cannot stand automatics. The lack of control is disgusting.

It's easy once you get used to it. But it can take a day or two, or few, for that to happen. At first you'll have to think about which gear is where. You'll have to get used to using both feet to drive. You'll stall a time or two; you'll pop the clutch a time or two; and you'll grind a gear or two and think you've destroyed the car. You haven't. After a couple of days everything comes together and it will become second nature. And a lot of fun.

Its not hard to do at all. If you are going to learn heres a few tips. first off learn on a older car or truck or your buddy's. Start off on a flat parking lot to get the feel of it. once you get your foot work down with the clutch and gas then move on to small hills and then try big hills.

whilst first discovering tocontinual a common transmission motor vehicle, you will probable locate it confusing to concentration on the line as you're attempting very hard to concentration on shifting, so confirm you first education in a small city or dirt roads and in simple terms get the shifting down. as quickly as you get the shifting down then you definitely can prepare the actualy applying, maximum suitable place is come across a right now dirt street and function at it!

It's very easy. That is if you can count. (sorry it was there) The only thing that is really different is that you use your left foot to hit the clutch.
