Cynical is right, but we had been supporting it, then we left after promising them support and the Soviets slaughtered them. Didn't want it to be another Vietnam.

Wait your asking the American public to remember any part of history. You know that most only know what has been told to them on the news. Most don't realize that it was America who trained and armed the Taliban to fight the Soviet Union. Then after promising to support them bailed out to watch them get slaughtered. Of course most don't realize that we also Put Suddam into power and armed him as well. Or how much business Suddam and Cheney had before the hole Iraq war thing....

One reason might be that because of the power of the Western world and mainly the USA it makes it more difficult for them to achieve their main goal which would be to deliver a Muslim world to Allah. Another might be that since modernization tends to be catching on just about everywhere, they feel that it threatens their way of life and the balance of power in their culture. Also, we stand for every thing that they are against (like women's freedom for one) yet we are more successful, that is humiliating for some of them.

Yes, it is because I heard that "they" use the Quran for "The Cause" of this "radical Islamic ideology" or the "Holy War!" That "they" have to kill to get into heaven! But I don't think it's heaven "they" are going to! It has to be the "other place!" The fate of the world awaits the "New Order." That the "New Order" is freedom for all nations! =<)

Because we are a modernized society. Remember the Taliban while they called the shots in Afghanistan, banned the following:
Television
Girls attending schools
Men being clean shaven
Most books

The taliban are a bunch of ignorant fundamentalists who picked the wrong side of a feud between Al Qaeda and America. Maybe you should be looking more at Saudis, Egyptians, Jordanians, Palestinians...
