It does feel that way at times. The liberals certainly do not take the threat seriously
They would prefer for us to revert to the Clinton Era policies of doing nothing to confront the radical Islamists

Dude, you didn't even know what a terrorist was before 9/11. No one did.
It's important that world leaders take terrorism as a serious threat, but should be dealt with initially diplomatically, war should be a last resort and not used as a threat. I agree that terrorism is something that needs to be combated, but you need to fight it in the right way and with the right goals and leadership, otherwise it too is terrorism, painted white.
I grant you that the situation in Iraq desperately needed to be dealt with, but Bush won the war already, he did four years ago. What is being mismanaged is the post war, and if you don't think there has not been mismanagement in that, you're just crazy.
More or less, the whole world is taking terrorism seriously. That doesn't mean every nations is blowing the war horn to arms on a military opposition against terrorism, but that recent near miss in London is only an example that the world and it's people have awoken to the reality of terrorism and is taking it serious. But terrorism is only a fraction of things that need to be dealt with; you can't spend to much time cleaning out the garage when you still have the rest of the house to clean by the end of the day.

I'm glad he is taking it seriously. Seems he is the only one in this country who still does. Hilary and Obama want to invite them to sing around the campfire at the Whitehouse and most of the people have forgotten 9/11 because it happened in the past. Remember all the flags flying after 9/11?
And I guess people don't understand that all the terrorists getting killed in Iraq would be killing people here.

I take them seriously, but I don't think President Bush does. He still thinks America is inviolable. I can't trust the judgement of the man who staged his announcement on the aircraft carrier to announce the war in Iraq was over, thinks Osama is in Hussein's back bedroom, let's Bin Laden's family fly out of the country 9/12/2001. . . . The list is endless. If you're glad President Bush is your leader, you might show some respect by at least capitalizing his name and Title.

If he were taking the terrorist threats seriously wouldn't he be looking for the terrorists instead of trying to control an insurgency in Iraq?

Is the same Bush who said Iraq had WMD and they were part of 9-11? Same Bush who going to something to close our borders? Same Bush who did such great show leadership during hurricane Katrina? Same Bush who pardon Libby?

There are others taking them seriously, as well. On both sides.
Of course, there are the "Osama is a Bush shadow puppet" conspiracy kooks out there. The only thing that will convince them is Bin Laden popping out of their bedroom closet like the boogeyman.

If he really took it seriously he would have implemented more items described in the 9/11 committee report as opposed to wasting lives in Iraq.
