Wishful thinking, he will be with the Yankees and probably for the duration of his career.

A-rod and Lou Pinella are boys; public knowledge. I think Arod is ready to get out of NY and into a place where no one really cares thats never won anything in over a century (or close).
cubs fans will embrace him. I don't even know who their ss is but my guess is he can find another spot on the field if he hits and a-rod will be a cub

The Cubs are one of the teams mentioned who would be interested in A-Rod. But keep in mind most of these rumours about other teams are being created by A-Rod's agent, Scott Boras, in order to put pressure on the Yankees to give A-Rod a new contract. I don't think A-Rod has any real interest in leaving New York, and I think the Yankees themselves are finely beginning to realize how bad their team would suck if A-Rod weren't on it. I'm pretty sure he'll stay in pinstripes.
If he did go to Chicago though, of course it would make them a much, much better team. For all the media crap about A-Rod, he's still the best hitter in baseball, and any team would benefit from having him on their roster. If A-Rod could move back to shortstop with the Cubbies, allowing them to keep Ramirez at third, their line-up would be one of the best in the majors.

I don't think they will sign him, even if he opts out and becomes a free agent. They have Aramis at third and a glut of middle infielders that can all play. Why would you pay 30 mil for a position that you could fill for 1/10 of the cost?? It just doesn't make sense to me for them to get him. I guess they could play him at short, but I don't think they should, the team has enough mashers, they need to sign a top of the order guy more than A-Rod. Too bad for them Ichiro already resigned, he would of made a lot more sense for this team than A-Rod does....oh well.

well aramis ramirez has been 1 of the most cheered-on plyrs in recent cub history. i dont no if i want 2 have gay-rod on my team if it means giving up ramirez. he seems like he's just 2 cocky 4 my liking. im a die-hard cubbie fan, & the cubs r my favorite team in all of sports, period, & i think keeping rammy & passing up on the yankee-doodle-dandy is the best idea in the long run. call me crazy, but i dont evn think gay-rod wants 2 ply in wrigley, or evn the NL. doesnt ANY1 agree? or do u just want a guy who might have 1 good yr w/ us. i'd take rammy cuz he loves the cubs, he always says the fans r the grtest (which we r) & look at how he plys. no plyr plys like that if they dont like their team.
edit: gay-rod's not gonna want 2 go back 2 short unless he gets 100 mil evry yr, which would cost the cubs 100 mil. & if he by sum chance did go 2 short, what abt theriot & fontenot? we'll lose half of our speed.

If they are dumb enough to pay a single player $30 mil for 6 or 7 years, sure he will.
He is a hired gun, that's all.
Cubs fans, would you want Arod (if it meant you couldn't have Zambrano and Ramirez?)
