Ive read that if youve given birth before that when checking your cervix, that sometimes the opening of the Cervix can be "fingertip" in size. Meaning its not all the way closed.

My cervix has been soft and high for two weeks now. Ive noticed it still has a small finger tip opening.. I was just trying to figure out what position that the cervix would be in around 5-6 weeks along if you concieved? And if its true that if a woman has given birth before, is it normal to have the opening feel like its alittle opened?

Yes, it is true that women who have given birth vaginally or even those who were pregnant and dilated even a little have a more open cervix. Also, this is true for women who have had any type of dilation of the cervix, such as for a D&C or HSG.

In early pregnancy the cervix does rise a bit and gets soft. It also may feel thicker because of the increased blood flow that causes the cervix to become engorged. It tends to be tender to touch and will often bleed a bit after checking or intercourse.
