I live in the 21st state, Illinois. Illinois became part of the United States on December 3, 1818. The state bird is the cardinal. The white oak is the state tree. Hi. I live in New Hampshire. The state bird is the Purple Finch. Not sure about the tree... White Birch perhaps? Motto is: Live Free or Die.

State bird = Yellowhammer
State game bird (what can I say, it's the South)= Wild Turkey
Tree = Southern Longleaf Pine
Motto = Audemus jura nostra defendere (translated "We Dare Defend Our Rights")

...and the state flower is the camellia (Camellia japonica L to be precise)
