I have a 2000 mustang & the motor makes a ticking sound when i shift.. but after it hits about 2 1/2 RPMS it stops until I shift to the next gear. Also the tick completely goes away after my gauge says my car is warmed up.. what could this be a result of?

At that rpm, you may not be getting enough oil to the valves. Sounds like valve tick. Depending on the mileage, I would look hard a the oil pump.

So warm the engine before driving off.
It's an oil pressure issue, (Hydraulic lifters not 'pumped up`.).
You might be using a too heavy grade oil.
You might have a clogged gallery or weak oil pump.

what type of oil you runing try runing a thinner oil because when you car is not warmed up the oil is thicker and its harder to get to the top of the moter but when it warms up it flows better and all the parts get the oil they need good luck and i hope well
