They can't, no government can match an ever expanding drug traffick. Our PROHIBITION LAWS SUBSIDIZE DRUG PRICES FOR THE DELIGHT OF GANGS, MAFFIA, DRUG CARTELS.
EXAMPLE:
President Felipe Calderon has deployed thousands of troops and police, but experts say it might not be enough to stop powerful networks of hitmen like the Gulf cartel's "Zetas," an elite and heavily armed militia of former soldiers.

"They are professionals. Their infrastructure is more powerful than the police. The authorities don't have the resources to face up to a phenomenon like this," said a drug expert within the Veracruz state government.

The problem would go away if they legalized drugs. Keeping them illegal keeps them scarce, and keeping them scarce keeps the price high, and keeping the price high brings in the crime. Alcohol used to be illegal and when it was, it was scarce, the price was high, and criminal mobs got their start marketing and controlling it. Once alcohol was legalized the crime associated with it went away. The same thing would happen if drugs ever got legalized, but that will not happen. Its the key to permanent employment for jailers, prosecutors, judges--something like half of the over 2 million people locked up are in on drug charges. And the people have been well indoctrinated and propagandized to think that everything will fall apart if drugs are legalized, even tho they know very well that they themselves would never get goofy on drugs they can't extend that same credit for intelligence to anybody else.

How can we win when our Govt is letting them cross the borders and fighting Border Patrols and US Citizens.

This is worthy of a Nationwide protest while we still have the right and ability to do so.

With all the tax-payers money the Govt uses on such frivolous things, you';d think Border Control for US safety would be under control.

One sure way to remove the drugs from the criminals is to remove the drug laws.

People are going to do drugs legal or illegal. PERIOD. All the illegality does is place them into the hands of drug cartels.

Yes.... we can. We need to annex Mexico in as a state of our union. It may not stop this out of control problem, but it would definitely severely hinder it.
