You'll probably get a check engine light and it wouldn't pass an emissions test. It could also decrease your gas mileage as the O2 sensor would probably give the computer the wrong readings.

once it burns out it will make a lot of noise. but why do you want to do this?if the converter is working properly there should be no back pressure. if the converter is pluged you need to find out why they. don't plug up one there own. some thing caused this to happen.

You'd have to spend 200-300 on a new one.

I used to take mine off and gut them ,then reinstall.better flow.
