Just be the way that you are... I dated most of my high school cheerleaders last year, and they didn't act all preppy, and snobby. I just told them to be their selves, and the other girls accepted that.

Being cool and being mean are two different things. I DON'T understand why people think you have to be mean to look cool? Nobody's actually the definition of cool. There's so many different definitions to it. Some people think being cool means you're nice. AND YES, that's the true definition. Being generally think that being a cheerleader makes you snobby because you're going to be with the other snobby girls, and they'll eventually turn you into one of them. Don't do it. Remember, being cool means being nice. If you're always worrying about being snobby, you won't make any friends except your snobby ones. If you're nice, you'll make plenty.

Peer pressure is a awful thing. If you are a true cheer leader your purpose is to promote and support the Sports activities and participate in fund raisers, visit people in old folk homes and a lot more activities and camps too.
You are entering something that is going to require dedication and sometime that will require "being close" to the others on the squad with you. And that might be looked on by others as being snobby but they likekly don't know the hard work involved either.

No don't "Act" like a snob just because the others are. You need to be yourself. When I was a cheerleader through out high school 9 years ago and I would have to admit that a few of the cheerleaders were snobs and they hated me for it but I did care. Just be yourself and enjoy high school!! Congratulations!!!

go with the flow, its better to be in the in crowd than reject it, rejection could lead to bullying, keep old friends close though, hang out with the new people yeah but remember its the friends that stick by you no matter what who are worth keeping, not people who could leave you if dont win the football game or whatever, just be casual, dont let people in too much though, some popular types are users and gossipers but not making a generallisation here, im really un-popular but i have a few popular friends who arent like the main, you just got to be careful. Just act how they act and you'll fit in fine, but dont do anything you dont want to if anyone tries to get you to pick on someone or take drugs or whatever remeber just because it might feel popularity is taking over in your life its still YOUR LIFE not theirs, good luck.

I was a cheerleader in high school and I never had to act snobby. I was still the "cool chick". You don't have to act snobby. Just be yourself, like I did.

Tell them to get lost, if you have to act a certain way just to be on the squad then I'm sure it's not worth it love. ;0)

Be mean to other people and some day it will all come back to you. After high school you don't even socialize with your high school friends anyways. Be the bigger girl and people will remember you now and after.
