Met the woman whom I married on line a little over three years ago. At the time I felt like the biggest loser on the face of the planet to use the computer to meet someone. Luckily she was a real lady and person, unlike a lot of other females that I had wrote to. There are so many people pretending to be something or someone other than who or what they really are on line that it can be dangerous. But this lovely lady and I chatted for about 3 months before we exchanged phone numbers and finally met face to face. Right from the first date there was a very strong attraction and we felt as if we had known each other forever. I am very proud to tell people today how we met, something I would not own up to early in our relationship.

I met my husband online in February 2003. I was living in Japan then and looking for other English speakers to hang out with, not a soul mate. However, I messed up and put my old Florida location instead of my Tokyo one. I fixed it, but it wasn't fixed in the system so I came up for searches in both Florida and Tokyo, and that's how he found me. Despite seeing that I lived in Tokyo, he wrote to me and we were email friends until that summer, nothing overtly romantic.
I came home to visit my family and we met up to hang out at Busch Gardens. By the second outing we admitted me liked eachother, and by the fourth outing we admitted we were in love. Unfortunately I had to go back to Japan a few weeks later. I saw him again for 2 weeks at Christmas, but then he got sent to Iraq for a year that January. That was the worst year of my life so far.
By January 2005, after knowing eachother for 2 years we were finally in tha same country for more than a couple weeks. We got married on April 1st, 2005. So far so good, a happy ending to what started as an accidental meeting due to a computer glitch. Thank God for the Internet!

I met the bf I have now at work. We always said hi in passing and talked briefly a couple of times. About two months after I moved on to another job I left a Christmas card on his car asking him if he would like to get to know each other better and wished him and his kids (i knew he was single) best wishes for the holidays. He called and we had our first date on Christmas day after our children went to their mother and fathers houses. We have now been together almost 7 months and I truly believe I will grow old with him.

One of the guys that I'm currently dating and I met online on a dating website - but there is more to the story than that. I had just logged in and looked at my 'profile views' to see who had viewed my profile. As I was viewing these, I got notified that someone had marked my profile as a favorite. I popped into his profile, liked everything that I saw and read, except that he smoked. I marked it to look at again later.....but kept coming back to it often as I liked everything else about it.
As I was sending him a first contact email, I got one from him. We emailed back and forth right then, and again the next day before talking on IM. He told me I probably had never heard of the town he was from and when I told him that I most certainly had as I grew up in the town next to it, we realized that we had grown up together, went to school together, and hung around the same people. The more we talked, the more we remembered.
It's been a couple of months now. We've renewed our friendship from way back when, and have recently started dating as well.

Sorry but mine isn't really romantic...we met at work when I was 18 and he was 16. I took us 4 years to start dating and we've been together for about 2 1/2 years now.
You should share your story, too!

We are both Native American.. I used to work for our Chief ( a female)... I followed her to an event in a different state..We met in the middle of no where - tall beautiful trees, no running water, no electricity, just us and the Earth.. it was beautiful. There was a Cherokee minister performing marriage ceremonies that day.. it was raining and she asked me to follow him with an umbrella.. I didn't even know who he was at that point. I went to meet him, umbrella in hand, and fell in love instantly... He was so handsome in his ceremonial ribbon shirt and high boot moccasins.. I felt transported back in time.. The rain soon ended and I went back to my duties preparing the Chief for the days festivities... Later that night, we danced together by the beat of a drum.. after the drummers quit, we sat by the fire and talked all night.. The next morning, he got up and went walking in the woods.. he brought me a bouquet of flowers, walked up to me in front of all the people at the gathering, handed me the flowers and took his bearclaw necklace off his neck and put it on mine.. I was dumbfounded and swept off my feet.. The rest, shall we say, was history..

We met through mutual friends. I was the Brides-maid in our friends wedding, and he was the Best Man. Although it did take us months after their wedding to actually become interested in each other. We finally went out on a date, and the rest is history. We've been married 17 years. (The couple we stood up for divorced years ago. : ( )
