I've noticed a few different reasons. Some people just like being a smartazz, some for their almighty "2 points," kids that are just being lame, and even some that don't seem to pay attention to the question asked. It's like they didn't understand the question and answer something that has little or nothing to do with what was asked. Then, there are those that leave us all wondering "why" too.

I always try to pick out something about the question and focus on it in formulating my answer. I try to give the best answer I can, whether it be humorous or serious. It takes me a long time to make up an answer. That's why you'll see I don't answer anywhere near as many questions as others.
Some people, like with your question, just answer for the quick 2 points. I don't see the sense in that. I'll just move on if I see a question that does not interest me.

I think its because so many of the people asking the questions are clearly on a lark and full of it, that sometimes
my frame of mind changes from thinking I am dealing with
people who are seriously asking, to a yeah right attitude.

I guess they are looking for attention or they just want to be heard for the sake of being heard without rationally or carefully thinking about the questioner or the other answerers..

I think those people should be kicked off of yahoo then have their computer taken by the yahoo police. Oh wait I just did it to. Sorry I think just for an easy two points.

I know . . . seems like it would be so much easier to skip right on over it. There will always be questions. Are the two points really that big of a deal???
