Is it too flakey? Too trendy? Too popular? Would it be better as a nickname for Lilian or Lilith? Better with one "l" or two?

I love the name Lily.....Sorry to say, that's what I named my cockerspaniel.
I was thinking about the name Lily Rose Johnson. I think that's very nice.

I dont think it sounds flakey and it definitely isnt trendy although I just read that it is gaining in popularity. We just named our daughter Lily. We really liked the name Lilith (or Lillith) at first but then we looked it up in a name book and saw that it meant "Night Demon". Just thought i'd warn you!! Lily or Lillian does not mean this though - both of these names simply refer to the Lily flower. I have also read that that it is a symbol of purity. If you think Lily sounds too much like a nickname, I just came across a version that I really like and may have used if I saw it earlier - in Russia the name Lilia is popular and the nickname for it is Lily.

Lily is very popular name right now. I bet a school room would eventually be full of Lilys. If you love the name. Use it
I like the other two names.

I like Lily alot actually. To be a little different I would spell it Liily ! I like it better as a name then a nickname. It's very simple but it's a classy name. And for middle names, hmm..

I think Lily is cute, but I have to admit that Lilys tend to be a bit spacey. I babysit for a woman named Lillis, and I have always thought that that was both pretty and a good alternative.
