I don't think churches deserve it more than Red Cross. I feel it is more a matter of where people feel best in sharing their money. For me it would not be a church, but some others it may be.
As for as taxes go, I am uncomfortable with my tax money being given to churches. I would rather a non-religious group have it.

To the best of my knowledge "churches" do not receive "tax money".
They are now allowed to apply for and receive tax dollars for rehab centers and such but there are major restrictions... one being they can not proselytize in the rehab process or require any religious undertaking by those in rehab.
The Red Cross is a charitable organization that is entwined with the government but is not of a religious nature.
The Salvation Army is a religious organization but accepts no goverment funding because of the restrictions.

Maybe they don't deserve it MORE than the red cross, but churches do a great deal to assist those in difficulties, such as the homeless, those facing debt because of the extreme poverty they live in, etc etc
Not ALL churches use the money to build bigger and better church buildings, and provide for their heirarchy to live in luxury and wealth, although, sadly, some obviously do.....
Some of the word's great charities are church based......

God says in the book of Malicah that the people were robbing Him and their financials were under a curse because they weren't giving to God's house. But if they in turn would give what was His then, would He open up the widow of blessings and that there wouldn't be room enough to receive it. So this is why so many people can't seem to make it financially, they rob God and are under a financial curse and the only way out from it is to title and give to the Lord. Giving to the Red Cross on the other hand also reaps a reward in heaven where your treasures are laid and because of your giving, your reward shall be great.

Red Cross helps people world wide in times of disasters, your local church doesn't. And how much of that money goes to the preacher mans pocket? If you are looking to give, give to a place that you know your money will go to the cause, not the salaries.

Churches deserve your tax money because they deliver the votes of the Flock to the Republican Party and that keeps the coffin makers employed.

They don't. It is a way for the govt. to turn the churches into giant
PACs (political action commitees) at the taxpayers expense. Highly unconstitutional.

Churches should not get tax incentives, they should pay taxes the same as any other company.

Because apparently the Christians are the golden child of the United States, and most laws seem to be built around it.

Neither get tax money. They both survive on donations.
