Your wireless router has a utility that can be accessed by typing in 192.168.1.1 in your address bar of your browser and then you will want to set up and name your Network. Depending on several things you will be able to apply WEP, WPA, or WPA-2 the last being the best of course. when you select a password do not use anything you can find in a dictionary, write it down and memorize it.
This will require anyone wantiung to use your Internet to know the username and Password you create. They can see there is a network present but they cannot get on.

Create a WEP key. You can do this by configuring your router. Different router have different configuration method so check your documentation. You should also have a a better third party firewall instead of Windows firewall. Bitdefender would do that job on a great level.
