Daddy long legs could refer to Harvestmen spiders of Pholcus which are called cellar spiders.
I have cellar spiders in my house.
In both cases it seems to be a myth.

No one know for sure what the most poisonous spider is. The daddy long leg spider does have poison glands and fangs. Its fangs are located at the back of the mouth. The mouth is to small to bite humans. However it has not been studied to determine how poisonous it is. Other names given for the most poisonous are the Brazilian wandering Spider, the Widow Spider, the Australian Funnel Web Spider and the Recluse Spider

The Harvestman (daddy long legs) is not really a spider, since it's two body sections are almost combined, it has only two eyes, it has no silk glands, and it secretes a strange-smelling fluid from scent glands when they are disturbed. Also, it's legs contain muscles that allow it to move (and will twitch from anywhere between a minute and an hour when pulled off, supposedly to keep the enemy entertained as the spider itself escapes; the removal of limbs is not fatal). Spiders, on the other hand, (for the most part) all have silk glands, some kind of venom, eight eyes, no scent glands, and move by pumping blood into their legs, causing the legs to stretch out (meaning if you pull the leg off a spider, chances are it won't survive). Few harvestman have venom, and those that do don't possess venom strong enough to harm a human. In other words, they're completely harmless.

The confusion with this misconception occurred over the confusion between the Daddy Long Leg and the Daddy Long Leg Spider. Two different arachnids.

The Daddy Long Leg, also known as the Harvestman is, not only, not venomous, it is not a true spider either.

The Daddy Long Leg Spider is venomous although it is not dangerous to humans. A bite causes a rash and an itch, similar to most spider bites.

btw, just for you information, there are no spiders on this planet that are poisonous, however, they are all venomous, there is a difference..........Look it up!!!!!!!

just thought I'd point out the difference between poisonous.

Something is poisonous if it is toxic if ingested.
something is venomous if it is toxic if injected.

so unless you are in a habit of chowing down on spiders, you shouldn't be talking about spiders being poisonous.

daddy long legs are not terribly venomous at all and it has nothing to do with their ability, or lack thereof of being to bite humans.

No, the Black Widow still is the most poisonous spider, followed by the Brown Recluse Spider.

Daddy Long Legs or Harvestmen aren't terribly venemous, if they even are at all. The whole "fangs too small to penetrate the skin" thing is a myth. Check out a myth debunker site like Snopes.com to read about it.

Not at all. The "harvestman" or "daddy long-legs" spider is not aggressive and bites only the tiny aphids and flies it takes for food. Its venom is very mild, and you probably wouldn't feel it if one bit you by accident.

Whoever told you that they are dangerous is a goof-bunny.

To learn about venomous spiders, do an internet search on "venemous spiders." To learn about the harvestman spider, do an internet search on "harvestman spider."

CraddyPooster already nailed it before I could jump in here. The Daddy Long Leg being the most venomous, is a myth that seems to recirculate about every ten years.

The 'Daddy Long Legs` spider does have a powerful venom, but its fangs are too short to penetrate your skin and the dose too small to harm a human.
Because of this they are considered harmless.
