Has there ever been a documentary on the Planets and what they represent in astrology? There are so many science specials about the solar system but nobdy ever studies other aspects of reality.
Even if it's not proven, the theories of astrology are still worth pondering.
I would love to see that!

scientific mouths People keep your closed minded mouths shut. If God (Oops! did I say God,We can't prove Him either) wanted our eyes to be the final answer, He would have never given us the ability to dream, conceptualize and develop theories to solve creations answers, you are the same people that called the earth flat, believing only what you see.
Thank you Albert,Edgar,Steven & Zecharia your concepts have helped this age expand.

The Moon can pull tides up many feet.
Womens mensus follows a lunar cycle.
The term Lunatic comes from the fact that more murders and violent crimes happen on Full Moon nights.
Astrology has to do with lines of forece acting on people and things.
Einestein described these as warps of space
They are what seems to keep the solar system in balance.
So there has to be something to it all.
Plus if it were not for Astrology astronomy would have had to do all the observing and math!
Astrologers created all the charts and math most Astronomers used up until the time of NEwton.

Hi,
I have to say that you may have been better placing your question in the horoscopes section!
However, looking at this link on the Astrological Association of GB web-site you will see that Ofcom are actually quite restrictive about how astrology is portrayed on TV. This is interesting when you look at what is allowed on TV these days with respect to violence, sexually inappropriate behaviour etc!
http://www.astrologer.com/aanet/
But there have been some documentary type features about astrology, both on TV and on other media. At the time of the total solar eclipse in 1999 visible in parts of the UK, there was a media frenzy about astrology (well okay, I have Jupiter in Gemini and Mercury in Leo and I'm allowed to exagerrate!) and I was in fact on the radio!! I have been told I have a good face for it though, so that's good.
It is a fantastic question though and it must have been fabulous in the times when astrologers and astronomers lived happily hand in hand! I find both subjects most fascinating.

"Even if it's not proven, the theories of astrology are still worth pondering."
No they are not. How many times must something be disproven before it's not worth pondering any more?
It's fine to have an open mind, but not so open your brains drag behind you on the floor. It is NOT ok to be "open-minded" about anything as disproven as astrology. That's what "disproof" and "falsification" mean. If you're not thrilled with science, then how do you decide which ridiculous things to ponder and which to dispose of?

You won't find that here, Astronomy&Space is a scientific site.
And you probably won't find a serious scientific discussion of astrology anywhere since the planets don't have any influence on our lives (other than being visible in the night sky and affecting the orbits of asteroids and comets that might come our way).

"aspects of reality" is the kicking point - astrology has nothing to do with reality as can quickly be determined by looking at the dozens of astrology reports published each day. Better would be keeping track of the semis passing within 2 miles and how they affect you.

Carl Sagan looked at astrology (and its roots) in the TV series Cosmos. It's nearly thirty years old now, but his deconstruction of it still stands tall. Try YouTube for a glimpse...

The bible was written by men who have always been threatened by women....and who were the witches and mediums of the time? WOMEN. Women are not well treated in the bible-one of the only men who actually consistently shows mercy to women and children is Jesus himself. Were a witch or a medium to have given the men "wrong" or "bad" information, they would just as easily have been killed on the spot and condemned to Hell....pretty much like what happened in Salem or in Europe during their trials. Again, the majority of those slain (falsely I might add) were women. Men "use" those "witches" and "mediums" to their advantages. If they helped, they were revered. If they made a mistake they were slaughtered. Not much has changed. Bush himself wanted to outlaw witchcraft (actually-anything not "Christian").

Please: This is the Astronomy and Space section under Science and Mathematics.
Astronomy and Astrology are unrelated. Astrology belongs under "entertainment" or "myths and legends." In this section we discuss true science.
Please post your astrology questions in those other sections.

I doubt it. You usually have to fact-check documentaries - and there's no fact to astrology, merely superstition.
You mean aspect of reality that aren't reality?
