Yes, there was a Holocaust. There was also something called the Harvest of Sorrow, but that had to do with 6-8 million people starving to death in the Ukraine in the winter of 1932-1933. The point is this: there is always going to be importance assigned to things, no matter how horrific they are. The more we move into the future, the greater the tendency for people to lose sight of the horrors of history, if they even hear about it. Some things you don't hear about - Harvest of Sorrow, Katyn Forest [outside Warsaw] - unless you really dig into research.
My grandfather wrote that one of the things that got to him the most is that the smoke from the burning bodies could be seen and smelled for miles. Geez. That's as about as graphic an example as I can think of.

Yes there was a Holocaust. Those that deny it are either racist or conspiracy theorists. These are probably the same ones that say that men have never been to the moon or say Roosevelt caused the bombing of Pearl Harbor. These might even be the ones who say that Americans brought down the World Trade Center on 9/11. These people are cynics and really hate society.

I agree with you The holocoust was a terriable event in world history. Not the first time the Jews were so percuted and unfortunatly may not be the last. But saying it didn't happen is like saying 9/11 didn't happen when we all saw it live on tv. Some people need to open there eyes. The mass grave for all those people are still there and alot of people are gone because of HItlers prejudice.

In the immortal words of Simon Wiesenthal, the Nazi-hunter who brought Adolf Eichmann to justice in 1960 (by the way, was the architect of Hitler's "final solution" to the so-called "Jewish Problem") "If the Holocaust never happened, where are the 6 million Jews of Europe?"

I know that many many members of my family served in WWII and had an Uncle that was in one of the units and saw first hand what happened to those Jewish and other prisoner of war people.
He spent the rest of his life filling his basement to the top with food, he would pace the floor at night and have nightmares.
Also a branch of my dads family disappeared from Poland never to be found again, No letters nothing. Eventually my dad flew over there to find out what happened.
He found after looking for weeks and weeks an old neighbor of our relatives that simply said "the nazi's took them" They died out near OÅwiÄcim (polish for Aushwitz) .
So if it never happened, what did my Uncle see that haunted him till his dying day? And why did my father spend weeks looking for people who never exsisted?
Blessings

There will always be people that deny the exisence of the Holocaust. The Nazi's with their meticulous recordkeeping as well as the troops that liberated the camps have recorded the events for posterity.
Man needs to learn from his mistakes so that he does not repeat them. I think we have, though we have a long way to go.

I agree with you.
Sadly, all humans beings tend to think that only what happen to them is real, that only this time is the important one.
A teacher told a group of friends in school: "you only care thinks when is concerning about your little beings".
Politicians, business men, etc. when take a new responsibility tend to think that the problems they area facing are unique, but the Humanity had been facing all that things since ancient times.
