I have natural nails that will grow real long and everytime i go to the nail salon and get my nails done the next day they are already chipping. So someone told me about putting either a gel or acrylic over my nails and that will help the polish stay on longer. Tell me if you have ever heard of this and the results! Thanks!
Also, after I get my nails done, I put a top coat on it almost everyday.

I had acrylic tips, and they had to put a coat of acrylic over my entire nail to make it look even and natural. The acrylic topping they put on was like cement. Breaking a nail didn't happen. The only problem is that as your nails grown, the acrylic topping grows out with them. Thus, you have to have it touched up every 3 weeks. After watching a few times, you might be able to do it yourself, but I tried and I couldn't.

a top coat everyday? that's probably the problem
one or 2 top coats is enough
