I have a 2006 GMC Yukon. We normally put regular unleaded fuel but sometimes we put the unleaded plus. Is it bad for your car to switch between regular oil and plus? Thanks.

It won't harm anything switching from one octane rating to the next, HOWEVER IT MAY BE A WASTE OF MONEY.... I would suggest that you only use fuel with the octane rating that is recommended for your vehicle by GM.That will be listed in the owner's manual.

Look in your owners Manuel you will see what your car is geared for and I believe it is 87 octane, You do not have to put in plus or super it will hurt the performance of your car. I know it seems like a higher octane should be better but not these days it will only hurt the performance of your car. Stick with what the owners manual says 87 octane.

Putting more expensive gas in your car is not like giving your car a special doggy treat that will make it happier or make the engine last longer. If your car runs fine on regular with no valve noise, then regular is what you should put in your car. If you notice running problems in your car then you should use midgrade and never put regular in it again.

Its not bad for your car as long as you always put the minimum octane rating fuel in. It is true that you get better gas millage with higher octane ratings. Higher octane = better burn = better gas millage
