NOOOO!

A great player is a GREAT player regardless if he has a ring or not.

The perfect examples are Malone, Stockton, & Barkley, they all made the finals but they had the misfortune of facing MJ & the Bulls in his prime & they just did not stand a chance. However, that doesn't diminish the fact that they had great hall of fame careers.

A ring just adds a little extra to make a great player legendary but the absence of it doesn't make him any less of a star.

That's like saying that the 10-12th man on all great Lakers & Celtics team deserve to be in the Hall of Fame, w/c isn't the case.

Definitely not.
Some crappy bench players still get rings, even though they didnt play. Maybe a little playing time. But greats like Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett dont need a ring to prove they are good.
And sometimes, a player that isnt that good on season games helps a lot to win a Finals game

You don't have to win a championship in order to be great, tho it does not hurt to... Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, and many more have not won a championship but were able to make it to the hall of fame or are eventually going to. Kevin Garnett will not win a championship if he stays with the T-wolves

No, Allen Iverson, Carmello Anthony, just till now Michael Finley didn't have one, many players are great at the game, Steve Nash, Raja Bell, Stoudemire, Dirk, Jason Terry, J-Ho, all very great players but they don't own a single ring.

No that's what people nowadays don't undestand they base a great player by his stats and rings
what people don't get is that what made these players so great wasnt all their points and assists and rings it was just their heart the loved the game

Like Dan Marino in football, a superior player doesn't need the association's bling to be considered a superstar. But when picking all-time great squads, it is the tie-breaker every time.

its the ultimate prize that even the great players crave, even though they are great and won other awards, not winning a championship means you didnt win what you were supposed to win.
