i sure hope this isn't an essay question (that we are finishing for someone). "don't tread on me". but i don't know about that being on many colonial flags but only one - john paul jones. he pioneered the america's first navy & fighting naval forces. there were other colonial flags, like the disjointed snake separated into thirteen parts with the words , "join or die" inscribed below the disjointed snake. hum!
