Your right. However, the same can be said about the Republican party. Republicans are suppose to be about small government. Somebody should inform Bush and Cheney of this. I wish both parties would return back to their core values.. Or any values at all really. The business of politics have taken over both parties. Now it's about beating the other team with no concern about the people. What happen to a Country for the people, from the people, and by the people. This country is in dyer need to be reminded of the American Values originally stated by our four fathers....

It is the Democratic Party, thats the name. Communists? Who might that be? Do you think John Kennedy was a Commie? Or Jimmy Carter? Or President Bill Clinton? How can you possibly make such a ridiculous statement? This shows the mental quality of Republicans quite well. No wonder you guys bankrupted the treasury--you put us in debt to the Commies in China for God's sake!

Both party's are frelled up, not just the Dems, the republicans could use a good douching as well!
The days of have a political leader that is OF the people, FOR the people, BY the people are LOOOOOOOOOOONG gone!
If they made the political office a NON paying job, except for expenses, and banned ALL lobbying, you would see a whole new breed of politician!

I would take Truman. Judging by what FDR did, he wanted to be King.
Harry Truman was good.
Truman and JFK were the original recipients of the term "Neocon", in the 1960's by American Socialist Party Leader, Michael Harrington, because they were not Liberal enough.

You have your ideas mixed up a bit. A party has ONE job to do and that is to get its candidates elected. It has NOTHING to do with a platform a candidate runs on. Read a bit in a Government textbook - college level.

Democrats are not so much a political party as they are a "coalition" of a lot of different interests.

Don't you think in fairness the very same thing could be said for the Republican Party? I'm sure Abraham Lincoln and even Barry Goldwater would cringe at what it's become.

I agree. Both parties have strayed from where their ideals are supposed to be and into some muddled middle where they pander to fringe groups while they sell themselves to the highest bidder.

democrats, republicans...same bag of DOPE, one red, one blue. super rich cowards out of touch with the average American citizen, yet the average citizen still clings to their bag of dope as if their survival depended on it. they are killing themselves, and if we were to act upon our constitutional responsibility to over throw a government gone completely corrupt, we would be called "terrorists", "traitors" and "unpatriotic", when the truth is, all these things define our leaders today and many of the people in this country. it is a damn shame through and through.
